“Here comes the coolest hero on the team!”
A founding member of the X-Men and the team’s prankster, Bobby Drake discovered his mutant power to generate cold and manipulate ice as a young teen. He joined Xavier’s school to escape persecution in his hometown, and now he fights to protect others as the hotheaded Iceman.
Fantasy Flight Games is excited to announce the Iceman Hero Pack for Marvel Champions: The Card Game!
This cool, iconic hero flash-freezes his way into battle with this expansion pack, which introduces Iceman as a new playable hero alongside his fifteen signature cards. With a pre-built Aggression deck ready to play from the get-go, you’ll be able to put the villain’s forces on ice from the moment you open the box. With his special stash of Frostbite upgrades that can slow down the enemies’ movements, Iceman is a slick hero that can keep things cool no matter the situation.
This hero pack also includes a bonus modular encounter set featuring the bizarre Sauron!
At the beginning of the game, Bobby sets six Frostbite (Iceman, 2) upgrades aside. Then, as Iceman (Iceman, 1A), he can use his innate ability “Freeze!” to attach those upgrades to the enemies he attacks or defends against, lowering their SCH and ATK stats. By combining Iceman’s “Freeze!” ability with cards like Frozen Solid (Iceman, 7), Ice Wall (Iceman, 8), and Arctic Attack (Iceman, 9), he can completely lock down even the toughest of foes for their next activation, allowing his allies to focus on more pressing threats while the foes are stopped cold. In a pinch, he can even unleash an Ice Blast (Iceman, 10) to freeze and damage a bunch of enemies at once!
Of course, Iceman can do more than just freeze enemies. His Cryokinetic Perception (Iceman, 5) turns his “Freeze!” ability into a source of momentum, he can generate Snow Clones (Iceman, 3) to fight alongside him, and his signature Ice Slide (Iceman, 6) grants him a buff to all of his stats. With his trusty Power Belt (Iceman, 4) helping him pay for his powerful Ice cards, this hero is well-equipped for even the most heated battles!
Speaking of heat, Iceman’s pre-built deck is packing some serious firepower of its own. Shark-Girl (Iceman, 12) can increase her ATK when chomping on an enemy with upgrades attached—such as Frostbite or Suppressing Fire (Iceman, 14)—while Iceman himself can utilize a Surprise Move (Iceman, 15) to wallop an enemy and ready himself for more. Use Looking for Trouble (Iceman, 17) to remove a bit of threat off the main scheme, then thwart the player side scheme Keep Up the Pressure (Iceman, 18) to find an Attack event like Take That! (Iceman, 16) and bring the villain to their knees!
As we mentioned earlier, the Iceman Hero Pack also includes a brand-new modular encounter set. This set features Sauron (Iceman, 29), a terrifying member of the Brotherhood of Mutants who can utilize his Life Drain (Iceman, 31) ability to draw strength from his victims. Whether or not The Eye of Sauron (Iceman, 32) falls upon you, you’ll have to tread carefully while Sauron Lives (Iceman, 30)!
As with all other modular encounter sets, the Sauron set can be added to any scenario for some extra challenge. Can you fend off this unnerving foe?
